No time for politics for DC holiday party surprise guest Erik Estrada

By Emily Goodin - 12/10/12 01:52 PM ET

Finding a celebrity guest can be difficult for any party host, but "CHiPs" star Erik Estrada proved up to the task at Ron and Sara Bonjean's annual holiday party this weekend.

The '80s icon delighted guests by posing for picture after picture, chatting with everyone who wanted a moment and staying late to mingle.

Despite supporting Mitt Romney this year and Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) in 2008, Estrada denies any political leanings.

"I don’t get involved in politics. I don’t have time for it," he told The Hill.

But the actor did have some thoughts on how Republicans can attract more Hispanic voters, who overwhelmingly supported President Obama in November: immigration reform.

"We got to get the Republicans to help the immigrants. We need to do that because their vote is going to count down the road," said Estrada, who is of Puerto Rican descent.

Nearly 500 guests crammed into the Bonjean's Alexandria home on Saturday night for the couple's annual "T'was the Night Before Christmas" party.

It was the third year Ron Bonjean, a former Capitol Hill staffer and current political consultant, brought in a celebrity guest: actor Gary Busey came in 2011 and Dennis Haskins, who played Mr. Belding from the '80s sitcom "Saved by the Bell," was there in 2010.
