Hillary Clinton: ‘Really don’t believe’ I'll run in 2016

By Judy Kurtz - 12/12/12 12:29 PM ET

Secretary of State Hillary Clinton says while her age isn’t a concern because she’s “healthy” and has “incredible stamina and energy,” she doesn’t “believe” she’ll run for president again.

In a clip released from Wednesday night’s ABC special, “Barbara Walters Presents: The 10 Most Fascinating People of 2012,” the 65-year-old former first lady and 2008 presidential candidate all but rules out another White House run.

“I’ve said I really don’t believe that that’s something I will do again,” says Clinton. “I am so grateful I had the experience of doing it before. I think there are lots of ways to serve, so I’ll continue to serve.”

When Walters notes Clinton would be 69 in 2016 and asks if her age is a concern, Clinton replies, “It really isn’t. I’m thankfully, knock on wood, not only healthy but have incredible stamina and energy.”

Clinton adds, “I just want to see what else is out there. I’ve been doing this incredibly important and satisfying work in Washington, as I say, for 20 years. I want to get out and spend some time looking at what else I can do to contribute.”
