Security official on Capitol Hill: ‘Just Don’t Shoot Anyone’
Liberal TV talk-show host Bill Press said he was waved through Capitol Hill security last week on one condition: that he didn’t shoot anyone while in the building.
Press, a columnist for The Hill, told his Current TV viewers and radio listeners on Thursday that he had visited what he would describe only as “a federal building on Capitol Hill” the day before.
Press told the security officer that he has “a little implant,” asking whether he should go through the metal detectors. The officer said no, telling Press to walk around them. Press then asked whether security needed to pat him down.
Press on Thursday expressed disbelief at that response. The anecdote now hits closer to home after Friday’s shooting rampage at Sandy Hook Elementary School that killed 26 kids.
U.S. Capitol Police declined to comment.
