Staffers surprise Lieberman with 'cup of Joe'

WE HEAR: Sen. Joe Lieberman (I-Conn.) got quite a surprise from his staff when they donned some blast-from-the-past T-shirts they discovered while archiving the retiring lawmaker’s office.
Staffers realized they had struck memorabilia gold when they came upon tons of “Cup of Joe with Joe” shirts. The tops were left over from a diner tour the onetime vice presidential candidate did in 2000.
This week, before Lieberman, 70, walked into the Hart Senate Office Building, his entire team slipped on the Joe-inspired shirts as a surprise.
One aide tells ITK, “He got the shock of the day when he walked into his whole staff ready for one last ‘Cup of Joe with Joe.’ ”
