Date with 'Argo' actor goes up for auction

“Argo” fanatics can win a date with one of the Golden Globe-winning film’s actors.
And no, it’s not Ben Affleck (who’s married to actress Jennifer Garner anyway, ladies). Scott Elrod plays Achilles Crux, a star in a phony science fantasy movie being produced as a cover for the CIA to attempt to rescue Americans trapped in Iran, in the flick that’s based on real-life events.
A date with Elrod, a former United States Air Force air traffic controller, will be up for grabs at an auction held by the GI Film Festival and Sip With Socialites.
The annual GI film fest, which celebrates and honors service members through film, takes place May 6-12 throughout the D.C. area.
