Rep. Blackburn on skeet shooting: I’m ‘not bad for a girl’
If President Obama decides to take up Rep. Marsha Blackburn on her skeet-shooting challenge, he’ll be going up against one tough cookie.
In a Monday CNN appearance, the Tennessee Republican questioned Obama’s claim in a recent interview that he skeet shoots with guests at Camp David. The congresswoman even invited herself over to the presidential retreat, saying she’d like to join the president in firing off a few skeet-shooting rounds.
But Blackburn may be being modest. We hear for about five years the lawmaker held a women’s skeet shoot-off at a Maryland shooting range along with then-congresswoman and now Oklahoma Gov. Mary Fallin (R) and former Rep. Katherine Harris (R-Fla.).
Blackburn also might not wait for an invite to Camp David from the commander-in-chief. When asked if she’d go ahead and invite Obama to skeet shoot with her, she said “absolutely.”
