Lagerfeld doesn't 'get' Michelle Obama's new hairdo

Outspoken fashion connoisseur Karl Lagerfeld is apparently not a fan of Michelle Obama’s new ‘do.

In an interview with France’s Canal Plus, the sunglass-sporting designer and Chanel creative director said of Obama's much buzzed-about bangs, "The bangs are not a good idea. It's no good.”

While Lagerfeld said he digs “Madame Obama” (ITK had help translating the French language interview from The Hill’s ace global affairs reporter Julian Pecquet), “I have to say, I don't get the new hair."

Lagerfeld, 79, added of the first lady, who’s typically regarded as being fashion-forward, "I love Mrs. Obama but there's a news anchor [on French TV] that has that haircut."

Ouch.
