Eastwood's chair sits in office of RNC chairman
The chair that Clint Eastwood made famous on the Republican National Convention stage in Tampa, Fla., last summer has a home — in the Washington office of Reince Priebus.
The Republican National Committee Chairman tells NBC News two minutes after the “Dirty Harry” star famously addressed the chair — meant to represent President Obama — Priebus knew what he had to do: “I told my wife and a couple of folks that were around me, 'Let's get that chair.'”
Priebus says the inanimate object is easily the most popular item in his workspace as visitors clamor to snap a pic with the wooden seat.
The chairman tells the peacock network that the chair is a reminder that his party must be attuned to the pulse of voters: "We have to accept where our culture's at and be a part of it, and still espouse the good principles of our party, but maybe make a change in that area.”
