Michelle Obama: Bangs are 'my midlife crisis'
Michelle Obama has finally commented on her much commented-on new look: her bangs.
"This is my midlife crisis: the bangs," the first lady told talk show host Rachael Ray in a Skype interview airing Wednesday.
Obama debuted her new look via her Twitter account shortly before her 49th birthday and before President Obama began his second term in office.
"I couldn't get a sports car. They won't let me bungee-jump. So instead, I cut my bangs," she said.
The first lady and Ray, who works with Obama on her healthy eating program, also discussed their favorite Academy Award nominees, according to reports.
Obama named "Lincoln," "Argo," and "Beasts of the Southern Wild" as her favorites. Director Steven Spielberg brought "Lincoln" to the White House for a screening, and the first lady hosted some of the cast and crew of "Beasts of the Southern Wild" at the White House last week.
"This has been a great year in movies, so I don't think we can have a loser," Obama said.
