David Axelrod joins NBC News
Chief Obama campaign strategist David Axelrod is joining NBC News as a senior political analyst, the network announced on Tuesday.
Axelrod, who led President Obama's two successful White House campaigns, will contribute to both NBC and its cable network, MSNBC.
He will join fellow Obama alumni, former White House spokesman Robert Gibbs, who became an NBC contributor last week.
Axelrod began his career as a journalist, working for the Chicago Tribune, before he founded his political firm. His past political clients include former President Bill Clinton, then-Rep. Rahm Emanuel (D-Ill.), former Chicago Mayor Richard M. Daley. He also served in the White House, as a senior adviser, from 2009-2011.
