Indeed, McConnell's loyalty to his alma mater's athletic teams is hardly a secret. The top Senate Republican also picked Louisville to win the 2013 NCAA men's basketball tournament. McConnell's pick could turn out to be the right one: Louisville is among the Final Four teams along with Syracuse University, the University of Michigan, and Wichita State University.

Pryor, for his part, also thinks Louisville will win the tournament after beating Syracuse in the national championship. 

"I think Syracuse wins," Pryor said when asked about the upcoming game between Syracuse and Michigan. "I think Syracuse wins and I think Louisville wins and I think Louisville probably wins it all. Louisville just looks like they're the total package this year. They're just firing on all cylinders. They really don't have a weakness and they look awfully good."
