Al Green to miss White House tribute to soul music

Green, who turns 67 on Saturday, was not among the " Memphis Soul" performers listed in guidance distributed by the White House on Monday.

Obama is known to be a fan of the crooner. The president made headlines at a fundraiser last year when he sang a few lines from Green's 1972 hit “Let's Stay Together.”

Justin Timberlake, Cyndi Lauper, Sam Moore, Mavis Staples, and Ben Harper are among the talent expected to perform at the soul music show, which is being filmed for PBS stations.
