Freshmen lawmakers will be having a pizza party on Wednesday night after the House finishes voting.

Newly elected members from both sides of the aisle will be headed to "We the Pizza," a popular eating place on Capitol Hill.

The social activity was organized by Rep. Luke Messer (R-Ind.), the Republican freshmen class president, and Rep. Matt Cartwright (D-Pa.), the Democratic freshmen class co-president.

Both lawmakers have said they want their respective classes to get to know one another to help facilitate working together.

Lawmakers returned to Washington on Tuesday after a two-week recess.

The freshmen had planned to go bowling together in February, but had to cancel because of scheduling conflicts.

Last month, they had a luncheon with Bill Gates.
