The two dined together at the White House, according to a senior administration official.

Louis-Dreyfus recorded a message on SoundCloud after the lunch, where she also shared a picture of her sitting at Biden's desk, with the vice president standing next to her.

"This is hilarious," she said, noting the photo was taken in Biden's West Wing office.

"He asked my advice on various briefs he had to deal with and I was happy to give him my advice, which he paid no attention to whatsoever and that's why he's such a wise vice president."

She ended with: "We had a lovely lunch and it's a day I'll never forget."

In October, 2008, Biden, then the vice presidential nominee, appeared on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show," where he took part in a dunking booth competition. He threw the balls and Louis-Dreyfus was in the booth.

It took six tries, but Biden did dunk her.
