As a D.J. pumped Britney Spears tunes, the crowd of D.C. movers and shakers sipped jalapeno-infused tequila and sported red, white and blue wristwatches given out as party favors. Rock the Vote staffers could be seen handing out coveted Henri Bendel swag bags to guests.

Professional photographer Kris Connor was on hand at the event to unveil his “Polirazzi” exhibit, which featured images of celebrities testifying on Capitol Hill and at the White House. A portion of sales from the photographs was to be donated to Rock the Vote.

“The Spin Room” was among the first of three days of Correspondents’-related soirees. Saturday’s dinner at the Washington Hilton hotel is traditionally attended by the president and will be headlined this year by late-night host Conan O’Brien.
