Poll finds Democrats, Republicans sing to different tunes when it comes to musical preferences

Even The Beatles caused some dissent among the two sides: Republicans picked Paul McCartney over John Lennon while Democrats went with Lennon, who protested the Vietnam War and was active in liberal causes.

Meanwhile Republicans chose the 1950s as their favorite decade while Democrats prefer to rock out to the 1960s.

Overall, the PPP poll found that voters rated Elvis Presley (at 73 percent), The Beatles (76 percent), The Rolling Stones (61 percent) and the Beach Boys (74 percent) as their favorite musical acts.
