Though she praised him in her speech at the Republican National Convention, Tiffany Trump has long had a rocky relationship with her dad, whose tumultuous marriage to her mother, TV personality Marla Maples, was the stuff of tabloids.

The now-GOP presidential nominee tied the knot with Maples in 1993 following a lengthy extramarital affair that took place while he was still married to his first wife, Ivana, the mother of Trump's oldest three children.

The two split after six years, and Maples has kept mostly silent about their time together.

A memoir she was scheduled to publish entitled “All That Glitters Is Not Gold” was quietly scrapped in 2002.

In April of this year, Maples told Us Weekly that she alone raised Tiffany but that “her daddy loves her, of course," and last month she said their daughter was getting to know her farther better.

“My daughter is back here wanting to get to know her dad and spend more time with him, and I have to really respect that, and I do respect that in every way,” Maples told The Daily Beast.
