IRS cancels softball game against Sen. Cornyn’s office

President Obama announced the resignation of acting IRS Commissioner Steven Miller Wednesday, which came at the request of Treasury Secretary Jack Lew.

Cornyn’s team, the RBIs of Texas, was poised to play its first game of the season against the IRS — whose team has the eyebrow-raising name of the Cheetahs — on Friday.

The softball game has yet to be rescheduled, writes NBC News, which was first to report the softball blowup.

Martin noted in an email, “Guess they needed an extension.”
