Lawmakers' names get the royal treatment

Rep. Elizabeth Esty (D-Conn.) would transform into (the rather dramatic-sounding) “Duchess Adelle The Judgmental” while Rep. Joe Heck (R-Nev.) would trade his seven-letter name for “Emperor Cedric The Lion-hearted.”

Rep. Darrell Issa’s (R-Calif.) new name? “Prince Cartwright Royale.” Sen. Debbie Stabenow (D-Mich.) would henceforth be called “Princess Magnolia The Allusive.”

But it’s Rep. Barbara Lee (D-Calif.) who may have lucked out in the royal name department. She’d swap her congressional title for “Her Royal Majesty Godiva de la Luna.”
