Lawmakers get pizza-making lessons from Domino’s

While we hear Bentivolio impressed onlookers with his rolling skills when prepping the pizza crust, Dingell’s pie was a veggie lover’s (and perhaps nutritionist’s) delight, boasting mushrooms, onions, green peppers, jalapeño peppers, spinach and low-fat cheese.

Debbie Dingell, who was on hand to whip up some pizzas alongside her hubby, tells ITK that her spouse and Bentivolio did a good job of putting toppings on their bipartisan baked creations and popping them in the oven.

She was also surprised at just how healthy the American staple can be, pointing to her husband’s vegged-out pie as an example of pizza not being an “evil food.”

Dingell ended up opting for a meat-decked pizza — complete with pepperoni, sausage and onions — along with some cinnamon sticks. But Dingell may have earned those extra calories; she just completed a three-day walk in Michigan to raise money for breast cancer research.
