Obama has postponed the event, originally scheduled for Monday, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Producer Marta Kauffman, who helped create the hit sitcom, and her husband were poised to host the commander in chief at their LA digs.

But with the Senate expected to vote next week on potential military action in Syria, Obama bailed on the fundraising trip.

"The President's trip to California has been cancelled. He will remain in Washington to work on the Syrian resolution before congress," the White House said in a statement.

A statement from the Democratic National Committee obtained by the entertainment industry pub says the fundraiser will be rescheduled.
