Rep. Pingree's husband 'on the mend' after boating accident

A former Pingree staffer who was also onboard the water taxi was treated for minor injuries. The lawmaker’s chief of staff, Jesse Connolly, managed to walk away from the accident relatively unscathed — not suffering any injuries that required immediate treatment.

Pingree, a 58-year-old mom of three, thanked the Coast Guard and first responders in a statement on Sunday, saying, “Although it was a scary night, it could have been much worse if it weren't for the skill and dedication of everyone who responded to the accident."

The cause of the accident is being investigated.
