Jason Isbell to perform concert in support of Doug Jones

Grammy-winning artist Jason Isbell is set to perform a concert in support of Alabama Senate candidate Doug Jones (D) on Saturday.

A press release from Jones’s campaign notes Isbell will headline a “get out the vote” concert supporting Jones in Huntsville.

Another concert, performed by the band St. Paul and the Broken Bones, will also take place Saturday in Birmingham.

Isbell, an Alabama native, is best known for his solo career, as well as being a former member of the band Drive-By Truckers. He won two Grammys in 2016 for Best Americana Album and Best Americana Roots Song.

Jones is facing off against Roy Moore (R) in the hotly contested race to fill the Senate seat vacated by Attorney General Jeff SessionsJefferson (Jeff) Beauregard SessionsBrennan fires back at Trump: 'I will not relent' NYT columnist: A tape of Trump saying N-word could make his supporters like him more GOP’s midterm strategy takes shape MORE.

Moore is facing accusations of sexual misconduct from multiple women, including one woman who said Moore initiated a sexual encounter with her when she was 14 and he was in his 30s.

Moore has denied the allegations and resisted calls from top Republican leaders to drop out of the race.

Trump has offered a full-throated endorsement of Moore in recent days, urging his followers on Twitter to “VOTE ROY MOORE!” on Friday while blasting Jones as a “liberal Democrat” who would be a “Pelosi/Schumer puppet.”
