The 64-year-old lawmaker tweeted Tuesday that her family was expanding with another male addition:


A McCaskill spokesman tells ITK the newest addition is named Samuel Patrick, and he weighed in at 7 lbs., 11 oz. when he was born at a St. Louis hospital. Samuel is McCaskill's son and his wife's third son.

February has proven to be a productive month for the McCaskill clan. Earlier this month, McCaskill welcomed her 10th grandchild overall.

McCaskill, considered one of the most vulnerable Democratic senators heading into November’s midterm elections, is a mother of three adult children. Several of her grandkids are the children of her husband Joseph Shepard's kids.
