Kardashian West met with Trump last month to plead for a pardon for Alice Marie Johnson. The 62-year-old great-grandmother was serving a life sentence on nonviolent drug and money laundering charges.

After her initial opening wisecrack, Kardashian West says she and the commander in chief “got focused.”

“We spoke about Alice. And I explained to him where I found her, why I believe in her, how people deserve second chances,” Kardashian West recalled. “And immediately, the president had compassion for her right away. He felt that it was the right thing to do.”

Trump granted clemency for Johnson earlier this month following the meeting.

"While this administration will always be very tough on crime, it believes that those who have paid their debt to society and worked hard to better themselves while in prison deserve a second chance,” the White House said in a statement about Trump’s decision.

Trump wished Johnson a “wonderful life” in a tweet following her release.

Kardashian West, a 37-year-old mom of three, said she was in disbelief about her visit to the Oval Office, at the time thinking, “This is crazy. This is just insane — just the history in this one room.”

“It was overwhelming, in the most amazing way,” the “Keeping up With the Kardashians” star added.

Kardashian West admitted that some in her inner circle weren’t hot on the idea of her meeting with Trump.

“My family’s always really supportive. There might’ve been people around, [saying] like, ‘Are you sure you should go to the White House? Maybe you shouldn’t go.’”

Kardashian West’s husband, rapper Kanye West, has stirred controversy for his recent messages of support for Trump, sporting a “Make America Great Again” hat in April and calling the president his "brother."

“To me, this has nothing to do with politics — this has to do with people,” Kardashian West said.

“I hope maybe this inspires more people to talk to the people in power," Kardashian West said. "That you can have an affect over them for the greater good of other people.”
