Funny man Stephen Colbert made plenty of fun of Sarah Palin, Obama Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel and Rush Limbaugh last night on his show “The Colbert Report.” Colbert joked about Palin and the notes she had on her hand during the recent Tea Party convention in Nashville.

D.C.’s own Jose Andres, who owns several restaurants in the
area, including "Oyamel" and "Jaleo," made an appearance on
NBC’S The Today Show Tuesday morning.
Andres was on a cooking segment the show occasionally airs.
Along with Meredith Vieira and Al Roker, Andres made the “Andres family
macaroni and cheese,” with the special ingredient of Greek yogurt. Vieira tried
to no avail to “sound like a Spaniard” when pronouncing Andres’ name, joking
with him and repeatedly saying “Jose!”
Andres mentioned that his macaroni and cheese is a healthy
alternative to the traditional dish, particularly in light of First Lady
Michelle Obama’s scheduled unveiling of her childhood obesity campaign on
Tuesday afternoon.

Rep. Brad Sherman (D-Calif.) and his wife, Lisa, had to be nervous. They were expecting a baby — and the blizzard of the century was barreling toward the nation's capital. Fortunately, little Naomi Claire Sherman is not a procrastinator. On Friday afternoon, Naomi indicated she was ready for this world, and the Sherman family headed to a Washington-area hospital in the afternoon, hours before the heaviest snow hit. "Mother, baby and her 1-year-old sister, Molly, are all doing fine---and the father is expected to recover, Sherman said.

Rep. Earl Blumenauer's (D-Ore.) press secretary, Erin Allweiss, and Rep. Chris Van Hollen's (D-Md.) senior adviser, Doug Thornell, hosted a joint Super Bowl party at an apropos venue: the Left Bank restaurant.
The party had a distinctly New Orleans twist. Allweiss (center, with fellow partygoers) is a native of the The Big Easy, and the last time she was there, she told ITK, she picked up "a whole suitcase of Mardi Gras beads."
The decorations were in full force, as were New Orleans Saints jerseys on the 75 guests in the a glass-enclosed back room at the hip, 18th Street, N.W. joint.
Among the largely Democratic crowd were staffers from the offices of: Sen. John Kerry (D-Mass.), Reps. George Miller (D-Calif.), Zoe Lofgren (D-Calif.), the House Energy and Commerce Committee, the Natural Resources Committee, and a swath of federal agencies. They all requested anonymity to speak freely about their not-so-serious-gathering.
A lone staffer from Sen. Richard Lugar's (R-Ind.) office held the Indianapolis Colts banner high.
After the party, Allweiss told ITK that she and some fellow revelers went out onto Columbia Rd., N.W. and shared their leftover beads with people out walking their dogs.
"There were quite a few bejeweled dogs out last night," she joked.

The record snowfall meant that many congressional staffers had a snow day on Monday. But not all of them.
Some Capitol Hill offices sent out e-mails on Sunday evening saying they would be closed the following day. That translated into more celebrating (and a few more rounds) during Super Bowl gatherings from Adams Morgan to Eastern Market.
But not all congressional aides were so lucky. One Democratic senator (who ITK agreed not to reveal) made his entire team come in Monday because he had an important meeting. And his staffers were bummed when they read the bad news on their Blackberries -- especially the senior legislative aide who had a shot of whiskey waiting for him. Wisely, he decided to take a pass.
Among those offices that were open Monday, there was a sense of having won a competition, apparent by the press secretaries who called ITK just to say that their offices were open and how empty their neighboring offices were.

A massive storm that dumped nearly two feet of snow on
Washington
last weekend has prompted White House officials to cancel Monday's
press briefing. Deputy Press Secretary Bill Burton announced
the schedule change this morning over
Twitter: WH Press Office open for business but no briefing today. This
weekend's snowfall has similarly prompted
Senate leaders to postpone votes until Tuesday. Federal employees are
also off on Monday, the Office of Personnel Management announced this
weekend. However, the massive storm many are calling
"snowpocalypse" may not be over. Weather reports
indicate a second storm could dump another six inches on the already
hamstrung city, meaning additional cancelations later in the week might
follow.

A former Miss California who riled the political left with her comments about same-sex marriage is getting married.
Carrie Prejean, 22, is reportedly engaged to Kyle Boller, the quarterback of the St. Louis Rams.
The couple began dating in July of last year, and the proposal took place in Prejean's hometown of San Diego, according to E! News. No word yet on the wedding date.
The former beauty queen made headlines when she spoke out against same-sex marriage, which she called "opposite marriage" during the 2009 Miss USA pageant.
Her controversial statement earned her at least one fan on Capitol Hill. Rep. Jason Chaffetz (R-Utah) told TMZ.com Prejean could be a contender in the political arena, because "people are excited about [Prejean's] convictions and beliefs."

Monday is a day for frozen foods on Capitol Hill, as the dining services adjust to feed congressional staffers amid a federal government shut-down and impassable delivery routes.
On the Senate side, The American Grill, located in the hall between the Hart and Dirksen buildings, will be open from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. according to employees.
On the House side, visit the Longworth cafeteria during the same hours for meals. Just don't expect too much from the salad bar

Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has been many things: first lady, senator, presidential candidate. But now she's tackling a new role: mother of the bride.
Speaking Sunday on CNN's "State of the Union," Clinton confessed she has yet to find a dress for her daughter Chelsea Clinton's August wedding to banker Marc Mezvinsky. "We're still looking, and it's -- it's a new status for me being an MOTB. But I'm very proud to have that status."
Chelsea Clinton had better hurry up. Wedding dresses frequently require numerous rounds of complicated alterations leading up to the big day.
CNN host Candy Crowley, whose son was recently married, was sympathetic to the challenges facing the Clintons. "Which do you think ... is harder? Middle East peace, or negotiating this wedding?" Clinton smiled and said, "Well, I'd probably call it a draw about that one."
