GOP Rep. Ryan: Healthcare decision makes stakes in November 'much higher'
House Budget Committee Chairman Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) said the Supreme Court’s decision raises the stakes for November.
He said Republicans are disappointed the justices upheld President Obama’s healthcare law but remain undeterred in trying to get rid of it.
“It is up to the American people in the next election and their elected representatives to determine the true fate of this law,” he said after the announcement.
Ryan declined to opine on whether the decision could help the GOP in November.
“I am not going to read into the political tea leaves, I would just simply say we are disappointed but not deterred," he said. "This just makes the stakes of the next election all that [much] higher."
