House Democrats approve appropriations subcommittee ranking members

House Democrats approved Wednesday night their member assignments on Appropriations committee. 

The panel announced the assignments earlier and the Democratic Steering and Policy Committee and the Democratic Caucus approved the ranking members on the subcommittees.

Rep. Norm Dicks (D-Wash), who is the full committee's ranking member, also will take the lead on the Subcommittee on Defense, where he had served as the chairman before Republicans gained control of the House after the November elections. 

The assignments are:
