“The best thing we can do for small businesses is get off their backs,” he said.
Sen. Bob Corker (R-Tenn.) called the bill “another step in a direction that a majority of our ce;mso-layout-grid-align:none;text-autospace:none">“This isn’t a government program. This is trying to get money to Main Street, and if they want to vote against it go right ahead.”
Landrieu said the program is “very simple” and that it will only help community banks that are healthy.
“It’s voluntary and all you have to do is lend it to the Taco Sisters in Lafayette so they can continue to be the best restaurant.”
