The National Commission on Fiscal Responsibility and Reform will hold its final meeting Wednesday before completing a final report due Dec. 1.
The bipartisan panel, which is developing policies to improve the nation's mid- and longer-term fiscal situation, will hold the meeting at 9:30 a.m. in Dirksen 608.
Witnesses for the final session include Paul Posner, director of the Public Administration Program, George Mason University; Janet St. Laurent, managing director, Defense Capabilities and Management, Government Accountability Office (GAO); and Patricia Dalton, managing director, Natural Resources and Environment, GAO.
Posner will discuss performance budgeting while St. Laurent and Dalton will focus on finding potential budget savings by eliminating duplication, overlap and wasteful spending.
