Ryan to meet with House members

By Erik Wasson - 09/13/12 01:44 PM ET

GOP vice presidential nominee Rep. Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) will huddle with colleagues at 4:45 pm in the Capitol.

The popular House Budget Committee chairman is in town to vote for the six-month stopgap spending bill on Thursday. That vote is slated for after 5 p.m.

The continuing resolution is not uncontroversial in the caucus. It increases spending on an annualized basis of $8 billion and extends welfare programs by six months without changes to Obama administration work requirement policies. The CR is opposed by tea party groups and the Club for Growth.
