Ways and Means looks to move a green jobs bill

By Jay Heflin - 06/25/10 03:57 PM ET

House Ways and Means Chairman Sandy Levin (D-Mich.) next week is expected to present a green energy jobs bill to his committee.

The measure is currently being drafted but is expected to provide between $15 billion and $20 billion in tax relief to renewable energy sectors and be fully offset by rescinding tax breaks for the oil and gas industry.

Levin has already hosted a hearing on green energy jobs. It is unclear if a markup will occur on the legislation.
