GOP small-business tax draft delayed

By Bernie Becker - 03/06/13 11:39 AM ET

Washington's wintry weather has claimed another victim.

Rep. Dave Camp (R-Mich.), the chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee, has delayed the release of his draft proposals on taxing small businesses, which was set for Wednesday afternoon. Ways and Means has not yet announced when the draft will now be released.

Camp has released two previous drafts – on how to tax corporations' offshore profits and complex financial products like derivatives – as he pushes to broadly revamp the tax code.

House GOP leaders have reserved the prized H.R. 1 slot for tax reform, and Camp has vowed to pass a package out of his committee this year.
