Senate begins vote-a-rama

The Senate has begun a series of votes on potential amendments to the health reform reconciliation bill. 

Tax-related amendments include: 

Striking all tax increases that affect families earning less than $250,000, by Sen. Mike Crapo (R-Idaho). 

Waiving the employer mandate tax for hiring recently unemployed workers, by Sen. Susan Collins (R-Maine). 

Striking the 3.8 percent Medicare payroll tax from the bill, by John Cornyn (R-Texas). 

Striking the 2.3 percent fee/tax on medical devices paid by wounded military personnel, by Sen. Orrin Hatch (R-Utah).

Excluding cancer diagnosis and treatment devices from the 2.3 percent fee/tax on medical devices, by Sen. Mike Crapo (R-Idaho). 

Striking the 2.3 percent fee/tax on all medical devices, by Sens. Mike Crapo (R-Idaho), Scott Brown (R-Mass.), James Inhofe (R-Olka.) and Pat Roberts (R-Kan.). 

Additional amendments are expected to be introduced.
