Obama says adjustments expected to further reduce healthcare costs

By Vicki Needham - 03/29/10 07:09 PM ET

President Barack Obama said the healthcare overhaul will need adjustments to further reduce costs and revamp is a "critical first step" in the process of providing better healthcare, according to NBC in an interview to air Tuesday on the "Today" show.

Critics of the $940-billion bill have argued that the new law will raise costs for large employers, increase taxes, cut Medicare and won't stop premiums from going up.

Obama will sign the reconciliation package on Tuesday in Alexandria, Va.
