Wyden, Gregg to hold tax reform event next week

By Jay Heflin - 04/08/10 03:09 PM ET

A panel discussion on tax reform, featuring Sens. Ron Wyden (D-Ore.), Judd Gregg (R-N.H.) and former Majority Leader Tom Daschle (D-S.D.) will be held April 14 to mark the day before the annual income tax deadline.

"Reforming Our Tax Code: A Bipartisan Solution" will be held at 8:30 a.m. at the Bipartisan Policy Center, 1225 I St. NW, Suite 1000 (10th floor), with a continental breakfast starting at 8 a.m.

Wyden and Gregg have recently introduced The Bipartisan Tax Fairness and Simplification Act of 2010 and are scheduled to outline the legislation for those in attendance.

Tax reform is not expected in the Senate anytime soon, however; with banking reform, energy and jobs far higher on Democratic leaders' agenda. The hour-long panel discussion will be moderate by Daschle.
