Batchelder named new tax chief on Senate Finance

Senate Finance Chairman Max Baucus (D-Mont.) on Monday announced that Lily Batchelder will be his new Chief Tax Counsel. 

"Lily's wide range of experience and expert knowledge of tax and public policy make her an invaluable advisor to the Finance Committee as we continue our efforts to create jobs, help small businesses grow, close the tax gap and explore tax reform," Baucus said in prepared remarks. 

Batchelder was a law clerk for the committee's tax office and has testified before the committee on tax policy. She currently serves as a Professor of Law and Public Policy at New York University School of Law.
