House will vote on jobs bills this week

By Walter Alarkon - 03/23/10 06:51 PM ET

The House will vote Wednesday and Thursday on jobs bills, said House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer (D-Md.).

House members will vote Wednesday on an $18 billion bill that eliminates the capital gains tax for small businesses through 2011 and increases funding for Build America Bonds for public works projects, Hoyer said. They'll vote Thursday on a disaster aid bill that includes $600 million for summer youth jobs programs to be administered by states, Hoyer said.

The Senate has yet to take up either bill.
