Former Citigroup chair didn't see financial crisis coming

Chuck Prince, former chairman and CEO at Citigroup, on Thursday said the financial crisis that nearly brought down the economy took him by surprise. 

"Like so many others, [I] could not see the unprecedented market collapse that lay before us," he said in testimony before the Financial Crisis Inquiry Commission. 

Prince is testifying with former Treasury Secretary Robert Rubin who joined Citigroup after his stint his Washington working under President Bill Clinton.
