Nabors leaves OMB to lead White House's legislative agenda

By Vicki Needham - 01/27/11 08:37 PM ET

Rob Nabors is leaving the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) to take over President Obama's legislative agenda.

Nabors will assume the role of assistant to the president and director of legislative affairs, according to an administration official.

He was the acting deputy director at OMB before taking the new post and previously was counselor to the OMB director and senior adviser to former Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel. He joined the Obama administration in 2009 as deputy director at the White House's budget office under then-Director Peter Orszag.

Nabors was the chief of staff for the House Appropriations Committee from 2001 until he took the job with OMB after Obama was elected in November 2008.
