Another Blue Dog lands on K Street

By Kevin Bogardus - 03/29/11 10:11 AM ET

Former Rep. Bart Gordon (D-Tenn.) has joined a prominent lobbying firm.

Gordon will be a partner in K&L Gates's public policy and law practice. The former chairman of the House Science and Technology Committee will work out of the firm's Washington office.

“Bart’s committee service in the House was extraordinary by any measure and will add considerably to our policy practice’s capabilities in the technology-dense 21st century and especially in the energy sector,” said Peter Kalis, the firm's chairman and global managing partner, in a statement.

Gordon retired after the last Congress. He served 13 terms in the House and was a member of the Blue Dogs, the conservative House Democratic caucus. Several of Gordon's former Blue Dog colleagues have headed to K Street in recent months.
