Former Clinton counsel Lanny Davis joins Dilworth Paxson

By Rachel Leven - 03/05/12 03:48 PM ET

A former White House counsel to President Clinton has joined the law firm Dilworth Paxson as special counsel, the firm announced Monday.

Lanny Davis’s strategic communications firm, Purple Nation Solutions, and his law firm, Lanny J. Davis & Associates, will “work closely” with the Dilworth team, according to a statement.

“Lanny is simply a first-rate lawyer and counselor. We are delighted that as Special Counsel to our firm, Lanny will be available to assist us and our clients,” Dilworth co-chairman Stephen J. Harmelin said in a statement.

Davis served under Clinton as special counsel and as a spokesman on campaign finance investigations. He served three terms on the Democratic National Committee representing Maryland and under President George W. Bush on the Privacy and Civil Liberties Oversight Board.

“I am pleased to bring my experience in strategic crisis management acting as an attorney, with attorney-client privilege, to Dilworth,” Davis said in a statement.

Davis is also a frequent media commentator and columnist for The Hill.
