Democrats will give Bush all the Rope he wants

Democrats will not deny Bush funds for Iraq. They will give him all the rope he needs…. Rather than take a real position and cut off funding, they will let Bush wade deeper into the big muddy by voting the funding he requests. But first they will make him jump through the appropriate hoops. There will be hearings with a long parade of retired generals revealing their past and present discontents. It will be like a Bob Woodward book come to life. All of the twists and turns, foils and follies of the Bush decision-making process on Iraq will come to light. But the president will get all the money he wants and needs. The Democrats are not about to take responsibility for any cutoff — especially not when the consequences of saying “yes” are so delicious.
