Tea Party Republican dresses up like Nazi Waffen SS!

If you Google "candidate wears Nazi uniform," you would probably guess it would be a Tea Party favorite, a Republican, and someone once called "a rising star in the GOP.” If you did guess this, you would be right!

We refer, of course, to Rich Lott, the Republican nominee for a congressional seat in Ohio, a Tea Party darling and a fellow who gets his jollies dressing up as a Nazi SS officer! Where do they find these guys?

To be fair to Lott, he does not endorse the Waffen SS policies, he merely holds profound admiration for their fighting abilities, and enjoys parading up imagined battlefields, jackboot on foot, Republican policies in mind.

What did Sharron Angle mean when she talked about Second Amendment solutions and "taking out" political opponents?

Does Rand Paul support the full Civil Rights Act, or parts of it, and does he believe that racist policies of private-sector policies are legally allowed?

Can you believe the Republican Tea Party nominee for governor of New York virtually started a fistfight with a reporter for the New York Post?

Remember that old song "It's witchcraft”? Oh, let’s not go there today.

The Republican opponent of Rep. Chet Edwards (D-Texas) first proposed privatizing veterans’ healthcare, a horrific idea whose time will never come. Now we learn Edwards's opponent once had a company that went bankrupt, and parlayed that into a nice federal money windfall. Good thing Mr. Flores is against wasteful federal spending. Imagine what he would do if he were for it!

I could go on, but it's a busy day.

As for me, the Democrats I know would honor the United States Marines who took Iwo Jima, and the 101st Airborne who led the liberation of Europe from the Nazis, while the rising star of the Tea Party right dons his costume to express his admiration for the Waffen SS.
