I have to wonder if anyone really takes Al Gore seriously. Yes, it seems that the weather is getting warmer, and yes, there are studies that show that putting certain elements into the atmosphere can contribute to a rise in temperature, but there are other studies showing that the earth passes through phases of warm and cool. To call his film “An Inconvenient Truth” when he is taking a side of a contested issue is, at best, disingenuous.

The Blue-Green is fraying. Republicans need to focus their energy on wooing the blue and forgetting the green.
Blue means the blue-collar voters who used to be called the Reagan Democrats.
Green means the rich elites who love to espouse environmental policy as they board their luxurious private jets.

When it comes to global warming, who does President Bush think he’s kidding?
For five of the last six years he lived in denial, refusing even to admit the existence of global warming. A year ago, he finally acknowledged it’s real, but insisted we still don’t know whether it’s man-made. And all the time, of course, he opposed any action by the United States to help fight global warming.

Am I dreaming? Instead of binding international treaties, President Bush, according to a top administration official, favors controlling global warming by letting each country "make a contribution consistent with its national circumstances." Does he favor the same approach to nuclear arms control? Forget treaties. Should each sovereign state decide what it does with its warheads "consistent with its national circumstances"? And is that why he is dissing the United Nations by holding a global warming meeting at the same time the U.N. is?

It is possible that in a few short weeks America will wake up to news from Europe that Al Gore has been awarded the Nobel Prize for Peace.
If this occurs, it will be a powerful transforming event in American politics that will bring a surge of patriotism and pride to a nation that has been torn by war, divided by partisanship, trapped in a quagmire and alienated from what Jefferson called the decent opinion of mankind.

The differences between the parties get narrower and narrower as we watch this Democratic Congress punt on the issues over which they flayed the Republicans. The latest example is House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's (D-Calif.) refusal to bring up a bill with higher mileage-per-gallon standards for U.S. autos. Detroit's opposition to the proposal, and labor's complicity, are a key reason why foreign cars outsold American-made vehicles in the U.S. market last month.

Do I understand that you are comparing Al Gore on global warming to David Vitter and prostitution?
Hahaha.
Frank, you're one of the smartest guys in this town. If that's your plan for victory, you guys are in seriously big trouble.

10. The AP reports that half of the faculty of the University of Alabama will be denied Crimson Tide football tickets for the coming year. Wouldn’t it be better if a college administration really put the brakes on faculty excess by, say, denying tenure to left-wing professors who don’t really teach?
9. Speaking of left-wing professors, what will occur sooner, John Edwards going to the Hair Cuttery or the president of Duke taking ANY action against the “Duke 88” who signed hateful letters against the Duke Lacrosse players? The left wing is firmly in control of American college campuses.
8. Why so little mention that the federal deficit is projected to fall substantially again in 2007 without a tax increase? Could it be that the national media is interested in the deficit only as an excuse to raise taxes?

Congress is busily drafting a new version of a time-honored boondoggle ... er, I mean, the Farm Bill. I’ll admit it, I’ve never been a big fan of a piece of legislation that gives subsidies to the likes of NBA star Scottie Pippen just because he happens to own some land designated as “farm acreage.” And bear in mind the last Farm Bill Congress produced ran upwards of $80 billion, all for a dwindling population of true farmers — less than 3 percent of our overall workforce, last time I checked.
But this season adds a different twist. The latest biofuel/ethanol craze has farmers lining up for a new round of agriculture subsidies, and incorporating a very impressive marketing effort while they’re at it.

In this video, Karen Hanretty says the hype behind Al Gore's global warming concerts fizzled over the weekend and were ineffective compared to similar music campaigns in the past.
