Americans are on earth; House Republican leader journeys to Venus!

The Hill reports that the distinguished Republican leader in the House, Rep. John Boehner (Ohio), is now claiming that Republicans can gain 100 seats in that chamber.

Perhaps Mr. Boehner believes that after Republicans gain those 100 seats, he will sit down and negotiate with space aliens about solving the global warming problem he claims does not exist.

More likely Mr. Boehner, seeing the dispute between Conan and Jay, is trying his hand at late-night comedy. Or, knowing that NASA is pursuing its mission to Mars, Mr. Boehner is staking his claim with the little green men on Martian soil.

Actually, my guess is that John Boehner has seen the polls showing the Democrats are now positioned to pick up the Republican seat in Ohio, with both Democratic candidates leading former George W. Bush aide Rob Portman in the latest poll.

Where do Republicans get these guys?
