Paul vs. the ‘chicken hawk’

By Brent Budowsky - 01/04/12 06:12 PM ET

I saw it with my own eyes, and heard it with my own ears, on CNN. Ron Paul just blasted Newt Gingrich for being a "chicken hawk,” i.e., a pseudo-warrior who avoided military service when his time came, but favors sending young people to risk their lives in wars he does not have to fight.

Paul really took Gingrich to the woodshed, and while he did, Paul noted that many who serve in the military support him, which is true.

This does not mean I agree with Ron Paul on every national-security issue. But three cheers for the way Paul took Gingrich to the woodshed today on the "chicken hawk" issue. Stay tuned for big-time fireworks in upcoming televised debates.
