Santorum for Pope
But not president of the U.S.
My God, his positions are NOT about what ails this country. Ron Paul is
fighting for better war policies and faster departure from Afghanistan —
subjects worth debating nationally. Mitt Romney is saying he is better
prepared to deal with the jobs problem (probably, if his background is
revealing, by letting government employees go). Gingrich is unpopular
with those who know him best, his former colleagues in Congress. His
fresh contribution is opening a colony on the moon.
But Santorum wants to go back decades and refight old cultural wars that
the country isn’t concerned about. Contraception, marriage and prayer
in schools are NOT what are important in this national election. They
might motivate small numbers of activists in primary states, but they
have little to do with the country's real problems.
Santorum, who lost badly last time he ran in Pennsylvania, where he is well-known, and hasn’t been a voice for anything since, is the last resort of folks unenthused by Romney, but his candidacy is divisive, irrelevant and ludicrous; let's let him know …
