To know you isn’t to love you

By Ronald Goldfarb - 10/22/12 09:10 AM ET

Speechwriters for President Obama ought to have the following retort ready for the next debate. When Mitt Romney mentions all he did as governor of Massachusetts, the president should smile, look at him and ask, “How come Massachusetts is not voting for you?

“If all those accomplishments were real, wouldn't you be their favorite son?”

Last poll has Massachusetts not voting for Mitt Romney by 25 percent. Illinois is voting for Obama. “They know me. I guess Massachusetts knows you, Governor, and your campaign has written off Massachusetts as it votes for Obama.”
