Wisconsin governor acts like Hosni Mubarak, Wisconsin Democrats act like Lech Walesa

By Brent Budowsky - 02/21/11 09:24 AM ET

Some Republicans may want to run Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker for president, but it would be more fitting for him to run for president of Egypt as long as he refuses to negotiate with Democratic legislators, as Mubarak refused to negotiate with his opponents.

This is exactly what the American people dislike. Republicans are making a huge mistake. Walker says he won the election, so he won't talk? Harry Reid was reelected Democratic senator from Nevada and renamed majority leader. Should he refuse to talk to Republican senators?

Why do so many Republicans declare war against workers and programs that create jobs? Would Gov. Walker have shown such contempt for Lech Walesa when the Solidarity union leader was fighting for workers in Poland? The Wisconsin Democrats are doing exactly what Walesa did: fight for workers, for jobs and for democracy.

The Wisconsin Democratic state senators are heroes. America is not a one-party state, and American governors should not act like Hosni Mubarak.
